Teaching adult literacy is a rewarding but often frustrating journey. One of the biggest hurdles I face, and I know many others do too, is managing assessments. Assessments can feel like a mountain to climb, both for instructors and learners. They are essential for tracking progress, but they often bring stress, confusion, and sometimes even resistance. In this post, I want to share my experiences and practical strategies to help reduce the frustration around assessments in adult literacy teaching.
